Firmware update from outer portal

My friend has a mag 322 and updates are disabled. But just now he had to reboot as cod service was slow and when he picks the the cod portal (not embedded portal), it pushs an older firmware from Jul 2018? He's on Dec 2018.

I wonder if this is related to them being sued?
