[Best setup to mimic Cable TV via IPTV] Formuler or Shield?

Hey guys, my question is simple.

I have an IPTV provider that we currently use via mirrored phone and iptv app. But my wife is about to spend $600 or so a year just for the ability to "channel surf". Meaning she wants the traditional program guide and ability to flip channels with the remote.

Can I mimic this with an Android TV box like Formuler or Shield? My IPTV provider does support EPG, if that helps. Is there a way to imitate that interface?
