Eleven Sports and Formula 1 team up in Portugal

Eleven Sports and Formula 1 have agreed a three-year deal to broadcast the FIA Formula 1 World Championship in Portugal from 2019 to 2021.



Eleven Sports will show all track action, including Friday and Saturday practice and qualifying sessions, and Sunday races, in live, delay and repeat broadcasts.

Eleven Sports holds exclusive rights across linear platforms and will expand TV coverage of the championship in Portugal.It will also set up full production at all races.

Commenting on the development, Michaella Snoeck, senior manager, media rights at Formula 1, said: “Formula 1 are delighted to be entering into a new partnership with Eleven Sports in Portugal for the next three seasons. Eleven Sports will be taking production in Portugal to the next level, offering extended coverage across their TV channels and their digital offering. This agreement, combined with our new OTT offering, marks another step in the development of our licensing strategy.”

Our quality production on the ground at all races will be accompanied by top analysis and insight delivered by a world-class team, including the best local commentators and pundits in Portugal. We are going to take F1 coverage to another level and people will be thrilled with what we will offer.”

Eleven Sports channels will also broadcast the FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 Championships live until 2021.
